The Pink Aztec Warrior is oil painting for sale of a fictional masked luchador inspired by Lucha Libre. With the catacomb of other Mexican wrestlers in the background, the masked tattooed warrior takes a break to have a drink at a table after a match.

Mexican wrestling (Lucha Libre ) is characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, as well as "high-flying" maneuvers. Lucha Libre in central Guadalajara, Mexico, is a favorite Mexican past time where peasants and others visit to escape daily life.  Ealy Mays describes wrestling in Mexico as psychiatry for the poor.  Lucha libre wrestlers are known as luchadores (singular luchador) ("fighter(s)").
