Young despondent and distraught Latina somewhere in Texas. In a distance the highway leads to a cross in the road, and a barnyard sits atop the other side. The trunk on which she sits holds all her earthly belongings. She looks at her reflection in the little stream which forms a pond. She sits facing a house, looking down the highway - the house from which she has just left, to which the mailbox belongs, seem to be on the roadside, though it might just be across the Mexican border. She awaits something along the cacti-laden stretch – maybe a suitable vehicle in which to hitch a ride to a better life or maybe just some mode to take her to 'somewhere'.
