Bullfighting is one of the oldest and most popular sport in Mexico, where thousands of bullfighting events occur annually. In certain areas in the country, bullfighting rakes in huge amounts of money, from both tourists and fellow Mexicans. During the dry season, about November to March, it is very popular with Mexicans.
The largest bull ring in the world is the Plaza Mexico, located in Ciudad de los Deportes, Mexico City, Mexico. Opened on February 5, 1946, Plaza Mexico seats around 40,000 people, with its anniversary celebrated each year with a special bullfight called the Corrida de Aniversario
