Art tribute to Le Dieu.  His temper got him deported from both England and France yet he was allowed to re-enter France because the French so loved him, the existentialists considered him “Le Dieu” (God).  Filmmaker Woody Allen is such a fan that he not only wants to make a film about Sydney’s life, but he has also named his daughter 'Bechet', in honor of Sydney.

Sydney Bechet was an African American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer who preceded Louis Armstrong. He arrived in France on the same boat as Josephine Baker in 1925.
